Job description

McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve – we care.

What you do at McKesson matters. We foster a culture where you can grow, make an impact, and are empowered to bring new ideas. Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.

Position Summary

We are looking for a smart, curious, and technically grounded HR Technology Solutions Manager to own and evolve technology solutions supporting several of our HR functions, including Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Talent Management, People Operations, and Employee Experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, learns quickly, and can connect business needs with practical technology solutions.

You will serve as a primary technology partner to HR, developing a strong understanding of business priorities and translating them into scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions. You will work closely with HR leaders, HCM Architecture, Cybersecurity, other HCM Solution Managers, enterprise technology teams, and technology vendors.

We are not looking for an expert in every HR platform. We are looking for someone with strong technology fundamentals, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to quickly understand a problem and develop a point of view.

This is a growth opportunity for someone who wants broad exposure to enterprise HR technology, solution architecture, vendor management, cybersecurity, financial management, and technology strategy.

What You'll Do

Own HR Technology Solutions

  • Serve as the technology owner for applications supporting Talent Acquisition, Learning, Talent Management, People Operations, Employee Experience, and other assigned HR capabilities.
  • Maintain an understanding of application health, integrations, vendors, costs, lifecycle, and technology risks.
  • Help shape technology roadmaps based on evolving HR priorities.

Partner with HR

  • Develop a strong understanding of HR strategies, business processes, and desired outcomes.
  • Translate business needs into technology requirements and solution options.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner who asks thoughtful questions and constructively challenges assumptions.
  • Help stakeholders distinguish between a business problem and a technology problem.

Develop the Right Solutions

  • Work with the HCM Architect and technology teams to develop scalable solution approaches.
  • Evaluate existing capabilities before introducing new technologies.
  • Ensure end-to-end solution architecture and integration flows are appropriately documented.
  • Consider integrations, data, security, identity, downstream impacts, supportability, and cost when evaluating solutions.

Work with Vendors & Technology Partners

  • Participate in vendor demonstrations, product reviews, solution design, and roadmap discussions.
  • Ask the right questions about functionality, integrations, data, security, implementation, support, and cost.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Architecture, Procurement, and other technology teams during technology evaluations and implementations.

Drive Delivery & Operational Health

  • Coordinate enhancements and smaller technology initiatives.
  • Work across internal teams and vendors to move solutions from requirements through implementation.
  • Maintain visibility into production health, significant incidents, and recurring issues.
  • Ensure technology remains reliable and supportable after implementation.

Support Portfolio & Financial Management

  • Maintain visibility into technology costs, licensing, renewals, and planned investments.
  • Support annual forecasting and budget planning.
  • Evaluate competing technology requests based on relative business value, risk, cost, complexity, and capacity.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the portfolio and improve the value we receive from technology investments.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in technology, enterprise applications, SaaS solutions, systems analysis, technology consulting, HR Technology, product/solution management, or a related field.
  • Strong technology fundamentals with the ability to understand how enterprise applications, integrations, APIs, data, identity, and security work together.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and business domains.
  • Experience translating business needs into technology solutions.
  • Comfortable working with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to challenge assumptions respectfully and offer a point of view.
  • Demonstrated ownership, curiosity, and bias toward action.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with HR/HCM technologies or enterprise SaaS platforms such as Workday.
  • Experience supporting Talent Acquisition, Learning, Talent Management, or People Operations.
  • Exposure to SaaS vendors, APIs, integrations, IAM, Cybersecurity, or cloud technologies.
  • Experience with technology budgets, licensing, vendor management, or application portfolio management.

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to gain broad experience across business partnership, HR technology, enterprise architecture, SaaS products, integrations, Cybersecurity, vendor management, and technology strategy.

You'll work alongside experienced technology leaders while being given real ownership and the opportunity to build expertise across a diverse enterprise technology portfolio.
