Our mission is to build brands people believe in by delivering elevated experiences in all we do. Through uncompromising quality, purposeful innovation, and trusted partnerships, we create products and relationships that enrich lives and help shape the future of cannabis.

The Procurement Manager leads the procurement function across key direct and indirect spending categories in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. The role is accountable for supply continuity, supplier performance, cost control, procurement planning, and effective sourcing of materials, goods, and services required to support business operations and growth.

This position works closely with Operations, Planning, Product Development, Quality, Finance, Marketing, and other cross-functional partners to support new product launches, supplier governance, annual planning, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a practical procurement leader who can balance strategy, execution, cost discipline, and team development.

This role will be based out of our Pacifica facility in Delta, BC, and will report to the Senior Supply Chain Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support cost, quality, service, innovation, supply continuity, and business growth.
  • Lead supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contract terms, pricing reviews, and supplier relationship management.
  • Lead RFP/RFQ activities for key categories, including scope alignment, bid evaluation, supplier recommendations, and commercial award processes.
  • Identify cost savings, value engineering, alternate sourcing, supplier consolidation, and risk-reduction opportunities.

Procurement Planning & Operations

  • Oversee procurement planning for key material categories to ensure availability while balancing inventory, lead times, MOQs, and working capital objectives.
  • Establish and maintain purchasing controls, material standards, supplier data, and planning parameters that support reliable execution.
  • Manage procurement KPIs including purchase price variance, cost savings, supplier delivery, service levels, and data accuracy.
  • Partner with Planning to align procurement activities with demand forecasts, inventory strategies, production plans, and service level requirements.
  • Participate in S&OP processes to identify supply risks, capacity constraints, and procurement actions required to support business objectives.
  • Monitor material availability and proactively communicate risks, shortages, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.

Contract Manufacturing & External Supply

  • Manage strategic relationships with contract manufacturers, external suppliers, and third-party manufacturing partners.
  • Oversee supplier capacity, inventory visibility, commercial performance, service expectations, and external production commitments.
  • Support commercialization and lifecycle management of externally manufactured products across existing and new product formats, for domestic and international markets.

Supplier Performance, Risk & Governance

  • Establish supplier scorecards, service level expectations, business review routines, and corrective action plans.
  • Develop contingency sourcing and risk mitigation plans for critical materials and external manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support ethical sourcing practices, including supplier due diligence and compliance with modern slavery, forced labor, and responsible sourcing requirements.
  • Support supplier qualification, documentation, compliance requirements, and audit readiness in partnership with Quality and other stakeholders.
  • Support supplier sustainability initiatives, environmental compliance, responsible sourcing programs, and ESG objectives where applicable.

Financial Controls & Process Improvement

  • Partner with Finance on supplier invoice resolution, accruals, month-end support, procurement transactions, and related financial controls.
  • Develop and maintain procurement dashboards, reporting tools, and performance summaries to communicate results, risks, savings, and supplier performance to leadership.
  • Lead procurement process improvements, reporting enhancements, ERP/MRP readiness, and scalable ways of working as the function matures.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Lead, coach, and develop procurement team members, setting clear priorities, expectations, KPIs, and accountability.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support annual business planning, forecasting, budgeting, product launches, and operational priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 7+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience in manufacturing, CPG, food, beverage, cannabis, pharmaceutical, or another regulated industry.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, preferably leading procurement or supply chain team members.
  • Strong experience with supplier negotiations, contract management, cost reduction, supplier performance management, and procurement analytics.
  • Strong understanding of supply planning, inventory management, and S&OP processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with packaging materials, contract manufacturing, external supply partnerships, or product commercialization is preferred.
