Now is the time to bring your expertise to Insight. We are not just a tech company; we are a people-first company. We believe that by unlocking the power of people and technology, we can accelerate transformation and achieve extraordinary results. As a Fortune 500 Solutions Integrator with deep expertise in cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, and intelligent edge, we guide organizations through complex digital decisions.

About the role:

As a Senior M365 Consultant at Insight Canada, you will help clients modernize, secure and govern their Microsoft 365 environments. You will combine hands-on delivery across Exchange, SharePoint, Teams and Microsoft security technologies with strong discovery, architecture and client advisory skills. The role spans assessment, design, implementation, migration, testing, documentation and knowledge transfer, with solutions that balance business value, user experience and operational readiness.

We are looking for demonstrated senior-level delivery capability and practical breadth across these workloads, not expert-level specialization in every Microsoft product. You should be able to lead integrated engagements, recognize dependencies and bring in specialist expertise when a project requires greater depth.

Key Responsibilities:

Exchange and messaging

Assess, configure and troubleshoot Exchange Online and hybrid messaging environments. Design mailbox migration, coexistence and cutover approaches; validate mail flow, Autodiscover and client connectivity; and document dependencies, recovery options and operational handover. Coordinate changes with identity and security teams to protect service continuity.

SharePoint Online and OneDrive

Deliver modern collaboration sites and intranets through discovery, information architecture, navigation, content models and permissions design. Migrate content from legacy SharePoint and file shares using suitable tools, validate completeness and access, and support user acceptance testing. Establish practical sharing, ownership and lifecycle governance while improving search, usability and adoption.

Teams and integrated collaboration

Configure Teams collaboration and administration policies, membership and guest access, and align team and channel structures with business scenarios. Manage the relationship between Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, including permissions and content consolidation. Troubleshoot collaboration issues, support pilot-to-production transitions, and help owners and users adopt clear working practices.

Security, compliance and identity

Assess Microsoft 365 security and compliance posture and implement proportionate controls using Microsoft Entra, Defender and Purview. Apply Zero Trust principles, least privilege, multifactor authentication and Conditional Access, accounting for hybrid identity dependencies. Design and pilot sensitivity labels and data loss prevention across Exchange Online, SharePoint and OneDrive; test policy effectiveness and user impact; and translate security, privacy and business requirements into phased remediation roadmaps.

Migration, governance and automation

Own technical delivery from current-state assessment through design, implementation, testing and handover. Plan migration waves, readiness checks, exception handling and acceptance criteria. Use PowerShell and appropriate Microsoft 365 tooling to automate repeatable administration, migration validation and reporting. Produce design decisions, configuration records, runbooks and knowledge-transfer materials; evaluate licensing utilization and overlapping tools as part of roadmap recommendations.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated senior-level experience delivering Microsoft 365 consulting engagements, with hands-on implementation and troubleshooting capability across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and Microsoft 365 security. You can explain cross-workload dependencies, make defensible design decisions and take ownership of technical delivery rather than relying solely on advisory experience.
  • Practical competence in Exchange hybrid and messaging fundamentals; SharePoint and OneDrive information architecture, permissions and content migration; Teams administration and collaboration governance; and security controls spanning Entra ID, Defender and Purview. Working knowledge of AD DS and hybrid identity, including authentication, synchronization and access-control dependencies, is required.
  • Experience planning and executing migrations with discovery, pilots, validation, cutover and recovery considerations. Ability to use PowerShell safely for administration and automation, troubleshoot systematically, document configurations and produce clear test evidence. Experience translating business, security and privacy requirements into maintainable technical solutions and governance practices.
