Job description

Ambyint is a SaaS company that provides an Industrial IoT platform, leveraging physics-influenced AI models, plus closed-loop control to enable autonomous operations. As a result, we are an instrumental part of the climate technology evolution and a market leader in production optimization for the energy industry. We deliver step-change improvements to our customers by combining advanced physics, subject matter expertise, and data-informed insights with AI to automate operations and production optimization workflows. We’re coming off a strong year and are setting even higher ambitions for the future. To help us reach the next level, we’re looking for an IT Specialist to join our team.

About the role - Our IT Specialist owns and supports the digital systems that enable employees to work effectively across the organization. This role administers Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian/Jira, Confluence and other core back-office platforms; builds and maintains the company intranet and knowledge environment; supports system-based employee onboarding and offboarding; and drives practical adoption of AI tools, including Claude. The role combines hands-on system administration, user support, training, documentation, automation and continuous improvement to create a simple, secure and scalable employee technology experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Systems Administration and User Support
    • Administer and support Google Workspace (G-Suite), Slack, Atlassian/Jira, Confluence and other core business systems.
    • Manage users, groups, permissions, access requests, configurations and routine troubleshooting.
    • Act as the first point of contact for employee system and application support and coordinate escalations with external vendors when required.
  • Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
    • Own the systems component of employee onboarding, role changes and offboarding.
    • Set up and remove accounts, permissions, groups and application access; coordinate equipment and access requirements as applicable; maintain onboarding checklists; and ensure employees have the tools, access and information needed to be productive from day one.
  • Intranet & Knowledge Management
    • Build, organize and maintain a user-friendly company intranet and centralized knowledge environment.
    • Establish clear information architecture, ownership and governance; improve how employees find policies, processes, templates and resources; and support Confluence as a scalable source of organizational knowledge.
  • AI Enablement & Automation
    • Support responsible adoption of AI tools, with strong familiarity using Claude and other workplace AI solutions.
    • Identify practical use cases, build workflows and lightweight automations, create guidance and reusable prompts, and help teams use AI to improve productivity while following company privacy, security and data-handling expectations.
  • Training, Documentation & Adoption
    • Create simple system guides, FAQs, standard operating procedures and training materials.
    • Deliver onboarding and ongoing training for core platforms and new functionality, and help employees build confidence using company technology effectively.
  • System Governance & Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain system inventories, licenses, vendor information, access standards and documentation.
    • Support software renewals and license optimization, identify gaps or duplication across the technology stack, recommend improvements, and partner with leaders to ensure systems remain scalable, well governed and aligned with business needs.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Employees have reliable access to the systems and information they need;
  • Onboarding and offboarding are consistent and well controlled;
  • Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian and Confluence are organized and effectively administered;
  • IT standard practices and procedures developed and enforced.
  • The intranet becomes a trusted source of information; employees receive practical training and support;
  • AI is adopted thoughtfully to improve productivity; and the company's technology environment becomes increasingly simple, scalable and well documented.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, SaaS administration, business systems, or a similar hands-on technology support role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian/Jira and Confluence is preferred.
  • Experience administering user access and permissions, employee onboarding/offboarding workflows, knowledge platforms, software licenses and workplace AI tools is strongly valued.
  • The successful candidate is highly organized, service-oriented, technically curious and able to translate technology into simple solutions and training for employees.
