Manager, Learning & Development

Location: Any branch location, PEI

At Provincial Credit Union, we’re more than a financial institution – we’re a people-first, purpose-driven organization, proudly recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2026. We believe strong relationships are at the heart of what we do – with our members, our communities, and each other.

We’re looking for a Manager, Learning & Development to lead and strengthen how our people learn, grow and develop. This is an opportunity to shape learning across the organization, build the capabilities of our employees and leaders, and create development opportunities that support both individual growth and organizational success. This role will provide strategic direction for learning and development while remaining connected to the day-to-day needs of our staff, leaders and L&D team.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of PCU’s learning strategy, aligning learning priorities with organizational goals, workforce needs and future skill requirements.
  • Work with leaders to identify learning needs, assess capability gaps and prioritize development opportunities.
  • Oversee employee onboarding, role-based learning paths and ongoing professional development.
  • Establish consistent training standards, resources and delivery practices, providing hands-on design and facilitation support where needed.
  • Develop and implement programs that strengthen leadership, coaching and people management capabilities.
  • Partner with leaders to build coaching, feedback and employee development into everyday management practices.
  • Support succession planning and career development through targeted learning, mentoring, cross-training and other development opportunities.
  • Lead, coach and develop the L&D team, setting clear priorities and fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee learning resources, including budgets, systems, administration, team capacity and external training partnerships.
  • Establish measures to evaluate learning effectiveness, knowledge retention and the impact of development initiatives.

What You Bring:

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in adult learning, human resources, business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in learning and development, employee training or a related field.
  • Experience designing, delivering and evaluating employee and leadership development programs.
  • Experience leading a team and managing learning priorities, resources and budgets.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design and learning technologies.
  • Ability to translate organizational and business needs into practical learning solutions and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to make learning engaging, relevant and practical.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day operational needs.
  • Experience in financial services or the credit union industry is considered an asset.

Why You’ll Love It Here:

We believe our employees deserve the same outstanding care we give our members. That’s why we offer:

  • A People-First Culture: Join a supportive team that values collaboration, positivity, and community impact.
  • Competitive Pay & Bonus Program: Market-aligned salary plus the opportunity for annual bonuses.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health and dental coverage, sick time, and a Defined Contribution Pension Plan & Group Retirement Savings Plan with up to 9% employer contribution.
  • Work-Life Balance: Three weeks’ vacation, plus four personal days, and two volunteer days each year.
  • Career Growth: Tuition reimbursement, training opportunities, and career progression pathways.
  • Extra Perks: Annual fitness and clothing allowance, reduced employee loan and mortgage rates, and no service fees on banking transactions.
  • Salary Range: $88,258 – $103,833.

Additional Information

Bondability Requirement: Candidates must be bondable under a fidelity bond policy (includes a criminal and credit check).

Closing Date: November 13th, 2026.
