Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance & Quality Control
At Vitalus, quality is a promise to every customer and consumer who trusts what we make. As Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance & Quality Control, you'll turn that promise into one consistent, risk-based quality and food safety system across all our manufacturing plants. You'll lead the Plant Quality Managers and QC Supervisor, shape how product gets released, and build a culture where people raise concerns early. The standards and leaders you develop will keep making a difference long after any single audit or release decision.
Is This You?
- Your deep QA/QC expertise and steady judgment mean you know when to find a practical solution and when you need to hold the line.
- You develop leaders, listen before you decide, and care more about the team's long-term success than your own recognition.
- You're ready to move from running one site to setting the standard for all of them.
What You'll Do
Set One Standard
- Align procedures, specifications, sampling plans and training so the same product meets the same standard at every site.
- Assign quality resources based on risk, production needs and audit commitments.
Make Release Decisions You Can Defend
- Run lab operations through the QC Supervisor so every release decision is backed by accurate, scientific data.
- Use trend analysis and statistical process control to spot drift before product goes out of specification.
Earn Trust Inside and Out
- Keep every plant audit-ready for CFIA, FSSC 22000 and customer audits.
- Lead the response to customer quality issues and strengthen supplier controls with Customer Care and Commercial.
Build a Lasting Food Safety Culture
- Coach and develop independent quality leaders, and build bench strength across sites.
- Run root-cause analysis and corrective action (CAPA) that fixes problems for good, and bring quality into new products and process changes from the start.
What You'll Bring
- A degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related field.
- HACCP certification, plus Preventive Control Plan and FSSC 22000 (or equivalent GFSI scheme) training.
- 8+ years of QA/QC experience in food manufacturing, including 4+ years leading managers or supervisors.
- Hands-on experience leading audits, managing holds and recalls, and working with the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations and FDA FSMA.
- Calm under pressure, with the confidence to deliver difficult messages clearly and respectfully.
- Bonus: experience leading quality across multiple sites or in dairy manufacturing.
