Job description

Why BCAA?

Feel proud of what you do and help shape the future of BC at a BC Top Employer. We’re driven by purpose – delivering peace of mind to one in three BC households with insurance, roadside assistance, auto repair, Evo Car Share and Evolve E-Bike Share. With a long history of keeping roads safe and giving back in ways that build stronger communities, we offer a wide variety of meaningful, rewarding careers that move BC forward.

We are currently hiring a Compensation Analyst to join BCAA’s Total Rewards team, based in our Head Office in Burnaby, reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards.

This is an opportunity to support a broad portfolio that shapes how BCAA designs, delivers and improves its compensation and total rewards programs. You’ll contribute to job evaluations, market benchmarking, annual compensation and incentive programs, reporting and people cost modelling, while turning complex data into clear, practical insights.

Working closely with colleagues across People & Culture, Finance, Payroll and Information Systems, you’ll strengthen data integrity, improve processes and provide analysis that supports sound decision-making across BCAA.

Who you are:

  • You’re analytical and detail-oriented, and enjoy digging into data to identify trends, risks and numerical anomalies.
  • You’re proactive and organized. You can balance competing priorities, take initiative and deliver accurate work when timelines are tight.
  • You exercise sound judgment and discretion when working with sensitive and confidential employee and compensation information.
  • You’re a clear communicator who can turn complex data and analysis into practical insights and recommendations for different audiences.
  • You’re collaborative and enjoy building strong working relationships across People & Culture, Finance, Payroll and other teams.
  • You’re curious about compensation, data and technology and look for opportunities to improve how work gets done.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the design, administration and continuous improvement of BCAA’s compensation and total rewards programs.
  • Support job evaluations and reclassifications by completing job analysis, preparing documentation and developing compensation recommendations.
  • Lead BCAA’s participation in compensation market surveys, including completing survey submissions, analyzing market data and assessing the competitiveness of our compensation programs.
  • Research compensation practices and emerging trends and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Support annual salary and quarterly and annual incentive programs, including planning, analysis, administration and communications.
  • Develop recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards and data visualizations that turn People & Culture data into meaningful business insights.
  • Analyze workforce and total rewards data, including people cost modelling, to identify trends, risks and opportunities and support business planning.
  • Complete compensation and Workday data audits and partner with functional teams to strengthen data accuracy and integrity.
  • Prepare clear reports, presentations and recommendations for leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve compensation, reporting and data processes.
  • Support Total Rewards projects, programs and other priorities as needed.

What you bring:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Human Resources, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least three years of experience in compensation, reporting, systems, and/or total rewards.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with advanced formulas and working with complex datasets.
  • Strong analytical skills and extensive experience collecting, manipulating, interpreting, and presenting data.
  • Experience with data extraction, analysis and reporting methods.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with numerical information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise judgement, and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new software and reporting tools.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience using Workday for reporting, audits or compensation program administration.
  • Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools.
  • Experience with Excel macros or automation.

The salary range for this position is $85,801.08 to $107,251.32 per year and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.

Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (3 on-site / 2 remote days). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.

What we offer:

  • The chance to make a difference every day in the lives of British Columbians, BCAA Members and our communities.

  • Career and personal development to help you grow and reach your goals.

  • Incentives that recognize team and individual sales and performance.

  • Flexible benefits to support your health and lifestyle, and wellness dollars* to keep your body, mind and soul thriving.

  • A competitive rewards package including salary performance bonus programs, pension plan*, and more to help build your personal wealth.

  • Paid time off including vacation, and days for wellness, volunteering, and cultural, spiritual or religious connection.

  • BCAA membership, with valuable perks and Member savings on every day and special spending, from gas and coffee to clothes, sports and event tickets, and hotels.

  • Meaningful, rewarding work for a BC Top Employer known for putting people first and constantly building a better workplace for all our team members.
