Job description

Be part of something incredible. Metals are necessary for our world, but mining historically faced issues with waste, sustainability, and inefficiencies. MineSense is changing that. Our solutions reduce mining waste and environmental impacts while increasing profits and efficiencies. Backed by the best in venture capital and government funds, and recognized by tech industry and sustainability programs, MineSense is doing what many said could not be done: improving mining for people and planet.

The Manager, Supply Chain leads the planning, inventory, logistics, shipping and receiving activities that keep MineSense's manufacturing operations, field services, and customer deployments moving across Canada and Latin America. This hands-on leadership role connects future demand with the physical flow of equipment, components, spare parts, and service materials. The Manager ensures inventory is positioned appropriately, materials are available when needed, and domestic and international logistics operate reliably and efficiently. The role also builds a scalable and resilient supply chain through clear processes, reliable data, strong controls, team development, cross-training, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

    Logistics, Inventory & Material Flow:

Lead shipping and receiving operations and the movement of equipment and materials among suppliers, MineSense facilities, service locations and customer sites.

Oversee inbound and outbound logistics for equipment, components, spare parts, service materials and operational inventory.

Coordinate domestic and international logistics across Canada, Chile and Peru, including freight, customs, import/export documentation, shipment visibility and logistics-provider performance.

Position inventory and equipment to support manufacturing, customer deployments, field service, repairs, upgrades and replacements.

Own inventory-control processes and establish effective controls for receipts, transfers, shipments, returns, adjustments and other inventory movements.

Improve freight cost, shipment reliability, inventory accuracy, material handling and overall logistics efficiency.

Lead supply chain activities for month-end close and resolve inventory or transaction discrepancies with Finance and regional teams.

    Supply & Demand Planning:

Lead forward-looking supply and demand planning across manufacturing, customer deployments, field operations, service requirements and equipment replacement needs.

Translate business requirements into practical material, inventory and logistics plans.

Maintain visibility of future equipment, component, spare-part and service-material requirements.

Identify shortages, capacity constraints, excess inventory and logistics risks early, and coordinate practical mitigation plans.

Establish inventory strategies, including safety stock, replenishment levels and inventory positioning across locations.

Support new product introductions, engineering changes, upgrades, refurbishment programs and customer deployments.

Align demand and supply assumptions with Manufacturing, Engineering, Field Services, Business Development, Finance and regional teams.

    Purchasing & Supply Support:

Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities so material requirements are converted into timely purchase orders and supplier commitments.

Set purchasing priorities based on production, inventory, service and customer requirements.

Ensure purchasing activities follow established approval processes and internal controls.

Monitor critical shortages and escalate supplier delivery or availability issues that may affect operations.

Support resolution of supplier issues where they affect material availability or supply continuity.

Work with the Director, Supply Chain on significant sourcing, supplier or commercial matters when required.

People Leadership, Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement:

Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary team supporting planning, logistics, shipping and receiving, inventory and purchasing activities.

Build cross-training and backup coverage for critical supply chain activities.

Develop documented, repeatable processes across planning, inventory, logistics, shipping and receiving, purchasing support and month-end activities.

Conduct regular one-to-one and performance discussions, and address resource or capability gaps.

Promote accountability, collaboration, safety and continuous improvement.

Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.

Generally, 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, planning, logistics, production control, or related operational roles, preferably in a manufacturing or technology environment.

Generally, 2 to 4+ years of people leadership experience is preferred.

Demonstrated experience across supply and demand planning, inventory management, logistics and material flow, shipping and receiving, warehousing, international freight and customs, and enterprise resource planning or material requirements planning systems.

Experience in manufacturing, industrial technology, equipment, mining, or another operational environment is preferred.

Experience supporting equipment or materials moving among manufacturing facilities, service locations, and customer sites is an asset.

Working knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier coordination.

Spanish language proficiency is considered an asset, but not required.

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted.

Our total rewards package offers market-researched benefits, promotes internal equity, and supports team members at all levels of our organization, and includes the following:
